What is a sitooterie? - Escape to the garden, all year round!
'Sitooterie' is a Scottish colloquism meaning a place to sit outside under cover. Sit meaning to sit, oot is a Scottish pronunciation of out and erie to make it sound like a noun. - Anyway it is a good way of describing an outdoor area of your house where you can take a few minutes whilst protected from wind and rain. Not quite a conservatory but more than a patio. Could also be described as a veranda - or kind of lean-to conservatory.
Sitooteries or garden rooms by theshedcompany have become an extremely popular cost effective extension for those who enjoy their gardens - why not spend more time in them!
A simple functional extra space that is cleverly designed and can be enjoyed all year round, often adjoing a kitchen, we create a versatile space in your garden that can be used to suit a range of needs.
Attached to the house wall with lead flashings - or free standing with an apex roof, designed using a combination of traditional roofing materials such as slate to create a solid roof with skylights, or full-length glazed roof panels. The versatility of a sun room or sitooterie makes them a popular choice, and built with quality materials they will enhance the value of your property and last a lifetime.
As well as for your home, holiday cottages and self-catering houses have found the addition of a Sitooterie a popular and cost effective way of increasing usable space for their clients, allowing them outdoor alfresco dining experiences (we can even install a pizza oven) regardless of the weather as they create a buffer between your house and any rain! If it is a wet and windy day there is nothing worse than see it whipping in against your windows. A sitooterie gives you a bit of relief and makes you feel the rain is not quite so close!
